The Project

MEETING IN MURCIA, MAY 2017
Programa regional de prevención, seguimiento y control del absentismo escolar y reducción del abandono escolar

The FINE AT SCHOOL project, launched in 2017 and funded by the European Commission under the ERASMUS+ programme, provides the design and development of experimental actions based on the emotional dimension of the school experience in order to prevent and reduce early school leaving. The project aims at ensuring the school success of primary and secondary school children, in particular those living in at-risk areas and/or in vulnerable situations, by promoting diversity and inclusive education in the learning environment. In addition, the project aims to systematise at European level pedagogical practices and tools, based on inclusive approaches and on the diversity of learning styles, promoting the integration of children with vulnerable backgrounds.
The FINE AT SCHOOL project also includes actions aimed at improving the skills of primary and secondary school teachers in order to develop inclusive learning pathways that address the emotional and social growth of pupils. To ensure an effective improvement of the emotional competences and social skills of the children, their parents will be directly involved in the activities. Finally, a permanent platform for peer learning and mutual exchange between national authorities responsible for school education will be promoted, facilitating the adoption of common policies, measures and practices within the framework of ET2020.
The project activities that will guarantee the achievement of the objectives listed above will be carried out in 4 European countries (Italy, Spain, Poland, Bulgaria) and are:

  • a survey on children’s well-being at school, with reference to their perception of the educational environment, their competences and different learning styles. The research is now completed.
  • the design and testing of pedagogical models and tools based on inclusive teaching, aimed at fostering and improving students’ emotional and social competences, contributing to the creation of an optimal educational environment in which no one feels excluded;
  • the implementation of training paths for teachers and trainers working with pupils with specific learning disorders and/or disabilities, for the adaptation of the pedagogical models and tools designed to their school reality;
  • the development of non-formal training courses with parents, who will have the opportunity to observe and follow the activities of the project, learning how to use the educational tools offered at home, so as to encourage the improvement of emotional and social skills both personal and of their children. Involving parents in the project will be of fundamental importance to have the support in the learning processes that will be put in place.The partnership of the FINE AT SCHOOL project is composed of:
